Shah Rukh Khan’s Pakistani cousin Noor Jahan may contest the elections to the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on a seat reserved for women. As per a report in Voice of America, Noor Jehan will contest from the progressive Awami National Party that was founded by Abdul Wani Khan, the son of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan. Interestingly Shah Rukh’s father was a freedom fighter and a staunch follower of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan.

Noor Jehan is Shahrukh’s first cousin. She is the daughter of Ghulam Mohammad alias Gama who was the elder brother of Shah Rukh’s father Meer Taj Mohammad. As per reports, she lives in the Shah Wali Qataal area near historic Qissa Khwani Bazaar area of Peshawar. This is where Shah Rukh’s father had lived in his early days. It is adjacent to the place where Bollywood legend Dilip Kumar was born and is just a few kilometres from the ancestral place of Raj Kapoor.
