Pakistan Court Convicts Nawaz Sharif's Brother Shehbaz In Alleged Scam Of Rs 1,400 Crore

A leader of opposition political party Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) and a brother of Pakistan's Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif was found guilty in connection with Rs 1,400 crore housing scam by the anti-corruption court on Saturday.

Sharif was sent for a 10 day remand by the anti-corruption court in Pakistan.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of Pakistan had arrested Sharif on Friday and sought for a 15 day remand to investigate in the alleged scam of Rs 14 billion Ashiana Housing project and Rs 4 billion Punjab Saaf Pani Company scams.

According to reports, (PML-N) president arrived in court in an armoured vehicle under the heavy securities. A large number of PML-N supporters gathered outside the court and chanted slogans against current Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan for taking revenge from Sharif brothers.

In the court, Sharif denied all the allegations and told the court that he had saved billions of rupees in different development project during his term as Punjab chief minister.

Sharif requested the court that it is political victimisation as he had not done any corruption during his tenure.

It is claimed that Sharif arrest will influence October 14 by-polls.

Previously, on october 14 Pakistan’s Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Sharif was convicted for owning expensive properties in London.

Both were arrested at Lahore airport upon their arrival in Lahore from London.
