Another royal Prince has stepped into the world, which is ready to welcome the new life with open arms. The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton gave birth to her third child with Prince William on Tuesday, confirmed Kensington Palace.

The baby boy was born at 8lbs 7oz at 11:01 am, as per England time in the presence of his father at St. Mary’s Hospital. " Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs," read the official announcement.

It added, "The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well." Her Royal Highness went into labour in the early hours of Tuesday and was immediately admitted to hospital's Lindo Wing.

Earlier, the Kensington Palace has conveyed that "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families," are delighted with the news of Kate Middleton and Prince William's third child.

The Dutch and Duchess of Cambridge already have two children together - Prince George and Princess Charlotte, whom the Royal Highness has given birth in the same hospital. The new baby will be fifth in line to the throne.

Prince Charles tops the line of succession followed by William, George and Charlotte. Prince Harry who was earlier fifth in line to the throne has been dropped to the sixth position. Notably, the male preference provision was cancelled from royal books before the birth of Princess Charlotte.
