Barely a day after 3 blasts took place in Indonesia's second largest city Surabaya at 3 different churches on Sunday, 2 suicide bombers on a motorcycle blew themselves up at the police headquarters in Surabaya, injuring 10 people and killing 1.

According to authorities, the injured include 6 civilians and 4 police personnel. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack on the police headquarter, although the Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the attacks on the 3 churches on Sunday which resulted in the death of 14 people.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo condemned the attack.

"This is a cowardly act, undignified and inhumane. There will be no compromise in taking action on the ground to stop terrorism," said President Widodo.

The Sunday church bombings marked the deadliest attack in Indonesia in years and was reportedly carried out by a family of 6 from Syria linked to local extremist network Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) which supports ISIS.

The mother, identified as Puji Kuswati along with 2 daughters aged 9 and 12, had bombs strapped to their waists which they detonated at the grounds of the Kristen Indonesia Diponegoro Church. The father, identified as JAD cell leader Dita Priyanto drove a bomb-laden car into the Surabaya Centre Pentecostal Church. The two sons of Priyanto and Kuswati, aged 16 and 18 years rode motorcycles into Santa Maria church where they detonated the explosives they had been carrying.
