'A Beautiful Mind' Dies: Mathematician John Nash And Wife Die In Car Accident

Nobel Prize-winning mathematician and Princeton University scholar, John Nash, along with his wife were killed in a car accident on Saturday, said New Jersey State Police.

John Nash was 86 years old and his wife Alicia Nash was 82.

According to reports, Nash and his wife were in a taxi on the New Jersey Turnpike and were ejected from the vehicle when it crashed. Authorities believe that both were not wearing seat belts.

John Nash was popularised in the Academy Award-winning film 'A Beautiful Mind', which starred Russell Crowe and depicted his groundbreaking work in game theory, which won him the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 1994. Along with being a brilliant mind, Nash also suffered from schizophrenia and upon recovering became an advocate for improving mental health care.
