After battling its way through protests, controversies, death threats and bounties, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmaavat, originally titled Padmavati, finally released in theatres throughout the nation on Thursday.

While many people refrained from making their way to the theatres due to the Karni Sena threats that are still looming around in form of protestors smashing school buses and hijacking public places, the ones who made it to the theatres were left questioning the reason for the entire fiasco.

Some first-day visitors of Padmaavat also found a shortcut for letting their friends sitting in their respective homes watch the film. That's right! While several cities were facing Karni Sena's wrath, a Facebook page called 'Jaaton Ka Adda' went ahead and live streamed the entire film.

One of the page admins sitting inside theatres has started the live streaming and enveloped 3.5 lakh people in the viral rampage. Within minutes of the film being uploaded, over 15,000 people have shared the link whereas lacs of people were enjoying the show.

The film based on the atrocities faced by Chittore Queen Padmavati while fighting the evil obsession of tyrant ruler Alauddin Khilji, which forced her to commit Jauhar to safeguard herself has been facing mass protest for the alleged falsification of facts.

Padmaavat starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor was recently granted a U/A certificate after the makers incorporated several modifications along with the title change in the film as suggested by the Central Board of Film Certification.
