Born on April 8, 1979, Bollywood singer and music composer Amit Trivedi turned 39 on Sunday. Amit is a mixed bag of talent in B-town. He started his career working as a composer for Hindi, English and Gujarati plays and later prepared jingles for non-film albums. 

Amit made his Hindi film debut with Rajeev Khandelwal's Aamir in 2008 but was first recognised for his work in Anurag Kashyap’s Dev-D in 2009. The audience, as well as critics, praised Amit for his work in Dev-D.

The singer earned several awards including a National Film Award for Best Music Direction for his great chartbusters in the film, including Emotional Atyachar, Saali Khushi, O Pardesi. 

Trivedi is also known for his vocals and sang five songs in Dev.D. He received the RD Burman Award and Best Background Score trophy at Filmfare Awards 2010 for Dev.D. He also won the Best Film Song for Iktaara (Wake Up Sid) at the Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA) 2009.

Trivedi has always been known for his different, husky voice and his unique lyrics. Once in an interview, he mentioned that he never took any formal training in singing, but it seems he has a classy sense of music.
