The Opposition has often targeted the government over lack of job creation. Congress President Rahul Gandhi in a tweet on Sunday once again lashed out against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving "empty slogans" and told Modi "bhakts" or followers to advise the PM to focus on job creation, sharing a video documentary.

"Dear Modi bhakts, Out of 9,860 crores for the Smart Cities only 7% has been used. China is out competing us while your master gives us empty slogans. Please watch this video and advise him to focus on what matters- job creation for India," said Rahul Gandhi in his tweet.

The video that Rahul Gandhi shared is part of WIRED's future cities documentary series and shows the city of Shenzhen in China, which is considered to be one of the technology hubs of China. Previously an industrial town, a change in economic policy marking the town as the 'Shenzhen Special Economic Zone' led to a revolution in the city.

With a population of up to 20 million, Shenzhen has become famous as a place for creating consumer electronics at a fast pace, which are often imitations of famous brands.

Newly declared Congress President Rahul Gandhi has amassed a hefty fan following on social media over the past year with his witty tweets and comments. His efforts and popularity paid off in Gujarat where he conducted extended campaigning ahead of the state elections. Although the Congress was not able to secure a majority, their performance increased considerably and they were able to win 77 seats.
