Blue Tick To All, Twitter To Verify Every User

Twitter to make it possible for any user to get a verified account with a blue check-mark soon. This move is done so that verification doesn’t seem like an endorsement by Twitter.

CEO Jack Dorsey on Friday revealed this information in a Periscope live stream. Dorsey also said that although the open verification proposal is being developed, intricate details of the process are yet to be confirmed.

“The intention is to open verification to everyone, and to do it in a way that is scalable where [Twitter is] not in the way,” the CEO said. “And people can verify more facts about themselves, and we don’t have to be the judge or imply any bias on our part.”

However, Dorsey noted that the policy is being developed keeping in mind the importance of one’s anonymity too. As Twitter doesn’t enforce a real name policy to ensure people get the opportunity to speak their minds freely.

This news comes as a contrary to what the company announced in November 2017, that it would soon suspend verification badges for some of its verified users, in lieu of the misconceptions hovering around its verification procedures.
