Have you ever experienced anxiety when you couldn't find your phone in your pocket? We all do. The most brilliant thing you can do to prevent your phone from getting lost is to set up some clever measures beforehand.

Regardless of whether your mobile phone gets stolen, these measures can help in wiping off your gadget's delicate information with the goal that they don't fall into the wrong hands.

Ensure A Google Account

GPS knows how to complete the job of finding your phone. But initially, you have to have a Google account on your device. It is necessary to have a Google account as all the tracking services, be it inbuilt or downloaded, need it.

Find My Device

Most Android phones come with a “Find My Device" feature inbuilt. This service automatically tracks your phone's location, so if it ever goes missing you can hop on your laptop or a friend's phone and find it's last known location.

If it's close by, you can ring your device. If you think it's been stolen, you can lock or erase your phone.

Set up With Original ID

The Find My Device service is always located in Settings, but if you can’t find it go to Google Play Store and download it.

It'll inquire, whether you need to proceed with your Google ID or as a guest. For setup, run with the original ID and continue.

Check Whether It Works

After setting it up, test the application whether it's working or not, borrow someone's phone, once again make the entry, give all the necessary details and see if it starts locating your phone.

Once it locates the device, you'll see three options there - "PLAY SOUND", "LOCK" and "ERASE.”

This is one of the simplest way using which one can find his/her phone.

However, if you are not compatible using this app, you can try some of the third-party apps that are available on the Play Store such as, Family Locator, Lost Android and Where's My Droid.
