iPhone X, The Most Expensive Apple Smartphone, Goes Out Of Stock Within Minutes Of Pre-Orders

After a long wait for iphone lovers, the anniversary edition iPhone X went on pre-order on Amazon India and Flipkart on Friday at 12.30 PM. However the smartphone went out of stock on both the websites within minutes of the commencement of the pre-order.

For the first time ever, India is among the first wave of countries to get a new iPhone. On November 3, the iPhone X will be going on sale in 55 countries, including India.

The pre-orders began on Friday via e-commerce sites (Flipkart and amazon in India) as well as authorized Apple resellers. Apple iPhone X will be available in two variants – 64GB and 256GB storage variants. In India, the 64GB storage version of iPhone X is priced at Rs 89,000, while the higher-end 256GB model comes at Rs 102,000.

Flipkart is offering a multiple exchange and cashback deals on the iPhone X including no-cost EMIs from Bajaj Finserv. It is also offering a cashback of Rs 10,000 for customers buying the iPhone X with a Citibank Credit card and Citi World Debit cards. Buyers can also avail either a cashback of Rs 15,000 if they purchase the smartphone with Apple Earpods or a cashback of Rs 22,000, if they buy the iPhone X with an Apple watch.

On the other hand Reliance Jio and CitiBank have partnered to offer the iPhone X (64GB) for just Rs 26,288 via Amazon India. Under the offer, if you buy the iPhone X using a Citibank credit card or World debit card, you get a cashback of Rs 10,000, which will be credited to your account in 90 days. This cashback brings down the price of your iPhone X to Rs 79,000. Further, Reliance Jio guarantees a buyback of 70 percent on the latest iPhone. The buyback can be availed after a period of 12 months. However you have to use a Jiosim on the phone to avail this offer. The buyback brings down the price of iPhone X to Rs 62,300. Reliance Jio will also offer its Jio Annual Plan along with the buyback. Customer will have to recharge with Rs 799 or above for a period of 12 months or perform one-time yearly recharge of Rs 9,588 or above on Jio. After all these offers and cashback, the price of the iPhone X ‘effectively’ comes down to as low as Rs 26,288.

Apple’s first all-screen smartphone, the iPhone X sports a 5.8-inch Super Retina Display at a resolution of 2436 x 1125 pixels. It is powered by a new A11 Bionic processor, which features a neural engine and enables the working of the new Face ID feature. It comes with an all glass rear, wireless charging, along with water and dust resistance.

In terms of optics, the smartphone sports 12MP rear dual cameras with optical image stabilisation. It comes with a 7MP TrueDepth front facing camera with support for portrait mode as well. There's f/1.8 aperture on the wide-angle camera and an f/2.4 aperture on the telephoto camera. This is the first ever iPhone to come with an OLED display with Dolby Vision and HDR10 support.
