Amazon on Wednesday launched its Prime Music service in India. The Prime Music app is available on both Android and iOS platforms providing a good range of music to choose from.

The Prime Music service will be available to Amazon Prime Members only. This comes as good news to existing Amazon Prime Members who have yet another service in their bag apart from free shipping and Prime Videos.

Prime Music has several readymade playlists and stations to choose from with a wide range of customization. In India, Amazon music was previously available to Amazon Echo smart speaker users only.

After logging in, the app asks users to choose the music preference with the language. The app uses the choices to prioritize the music on home screen, just like Amazon Prime Videos.

We tried the app and found a good range of music including the latest tracks. The app has several curated playlists in more than dozens of genres. It also gives access to a host of exclusive stations. We tried the ‘sufi essentials’, ‘bollywood retro’ and the Latin Pop stations and experienced seamless streaming of good mixes.

Prime Music also provides the 'sleep timer' which allows the app to turn off after the user goes to sleep. Users can choose between 15 mins, 30 mins, 45 mins and 60 mins.

The service looks promising and looks promising considering the fact that the annual membership of Amazon Prime is cheaper than Saavn.
