URI Trailer: Vicky Kaushal Avenge the Killings of Indian Soldiers In Action Drama Based on the Surgical Strike

Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam starrer Uri’s first trailer was released on Wednesday. The two and a half minute long trailer is sure to give you goosebumps.

The Action packed and adrenalin fuelled drama is based on the 2016 surgical strikes conducted by the Indian Army in retaliation to an alleged terror attack in the Kashmir region of Uri.

The trailer began with a backgrounder of the story, “On 18 September, 2016, 19 unarmed Indian soldiers were martyred at Uri base came, Kashmir,” the title reads. Vicky’s character is introduced with a scene in which he vows to never let his brothers-in-arms down, no matter where he is deployed.

From compelling dialogues to powerful action scenes, every frame of the trailer is impactful and will leave you hooked throughout drawn in a patrotic spirit.

The official synopsis of the movie reads, “A defining moment in India’s military history. A moment that paved a path to a new, stronger India. Presenting URI.”

Uri also stars Yami Gautam and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles where Yami essays a role of a hard-nosed intelligence officer.

The RSVP production Uri has been directed by Aditya Dhar.

Vicky on Tuesday had shared a new poster for the film, which showed a group of soldiers being parachuted down into enemy territory to carry out the strikes.

Speaking about the film, director Dhar had earlier said, “This is the story of what happened in those eleven days. It’s an honour and very reassuring to be backed by Ronnie Screwvala and to execute on this vision and what we believe is an engaging and thrilling story inspired by this true-life incident.”

Uri is slated to release on January 11, 2019.
