Prime Minister Narendra Modi today in an address to the nation announced that India had destroyed a live low-orbiting satellite during a missile test that placed the country in the space "super league".
He further said that the newly acquired capability will not be used against anyone and it was chiefly for nations security.
He further said, “Mission Shakti operation was a difficult target to achieve which was completed successfully within three minutes of launch.”
"Today, we have enough satellites that are contributing in various segments such as agriculture, disaster management, communication, weather, navigation etc," he said.
