Women’s Asia Cup: India Registers 142 Runs Victory Over Malaysia

India's batting order leading from the front with brilliant knocks and a disciplined bowling show from the bowling attack led the women's team to a huge victory at the first match played at the Women’s Asia Cup on Sunday. The match was played at Kinrara Academy Oval in Selangor.

Opting to bat, the Indian side got a poor start as they lost Smriti Madhana (8) in the third over. After which pooja lost her wicket to the pacer Noor Hayati Zakaria in the seventh over.

The experienced duo of Mithali and Harmanpreet build a crucial partnership of 86 runs to take their side to a competitive total.

India managed to put 169 runs on the board in 20 over, with a blistering knock by Mithali Raj of 97 off69 balls got the team in strong position.

The bowler then struck early and finishing the game in just 13.4 over, sending half side of the Malaysian batting line up at a low score of 12. The medium pacer Pooja Vastrakar grabbed three wickets for just six runs while the spin duo of Anuja Patil and Poonam Yadav took 1-1 wicket each without conceding a run.

 Malaysian batting line was unable to cross double figures. Captian Winifred Duraisingam (5 off 21) and Zumika Azmi (4 off 15) faced difficulty to survive against the strong Indian bowling side.
