Windies Beats The World XI In Hurricane Relief Charity Match

The World XI faced a huge defeat from West Indies in the Hurricane relief T20 match played at Lord’s. The match was played in order to raise funds for the renovation of some stadiums in the Caribbean damaged by Hurricane Irma and Maria in 2017.

Batting first windies star-studded team managed to put 199 runs on the board on the loss of 4 wickets. A solid opening partnership of 75 by Chris Gayle (18) and Evin Lewis (58) set a platform for the middle order to hit some ball in the stands.

Vital contributions by Marlon Samuel, Dinesh Ramdin and Andre Russell helped them to set a strong target against the World XI.

Windies were in a strong condition after they had 51 runs without any loss in the powerplay. After which the spin duo leg-spinner Rashid and off-spinner Shohaib Malik manage to send the openers to pavilion.   

Whereas the World XI batsmen manage to put 127 runs on the board as the reply in 16.4 over.

The World XI lost their first four wickets with just 8 runs on the board. After which Sri Lankan all-rounder hit 61 runs off just in just 37 balls. On the other side rest of the players got out early.

The match ended with some moments to cherish for both the teams.
