Vijay Hazare Trophy: Shahbaz Nadeem Clinches 8 Wickets, Breaks List A Records

Jharkhand's Shahbaz Nadeem playing against Rajasthan in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Thursday delivered a magical bowling spell and broke previous List-A records. 

Nadeem in his 10 overs spell conceded only 10 runs and took 8 wickets to reach the astonishing figure of 10-4-10-8 against Rajasthan. With this magnificent performance, Nadeem bettered Rahul Sanghvi record of 8/15 for Delhi against Himachal Pradesh (1997-98).


Nadeem able to broke Sanghvi's record as he conceded only 10 runs, five runs fewer than of Sanghvi’s 15 runs.  

Nadeem while delivering his career best performance was at 8 wickets in 8 overs and it seemed that he can take all 10 wickets. In the last two overs of his spell, he was not able to grab the other two. His best in List-A cricket before this was 5/30, and overall he had 116 wickets in 86 outings before this match.

Rajasthan started off slow by scoring only 32 in the first 10 overs before Nadeem took total control and destroyed the opposition with a splendid spell. At a point, Nadeem was heading for all 10 wickets but his teammate Ankul Roy clinched the 9th wicket in his name.
