Arsenal resurrected their fighting spirit, as they put on a scintillating display of football against Italian sleeping giants AC Milan on Thursday. They won the first leg tie of last-16 in UEFA Europa League by 2-0.

Arsenal has been under fire since their loss to Manchester City in the League Cup final by 3-0 on February 25. The two teams were scheduled to meet again co-incidentally on March 1 for their Premier League encounter and the exact scoreline was repeated.

Expecting to get a better result, they still were robbed of that opportunity against Brighton & Hove Albion.

With Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger in the media spotlight for the wrong reasons, he finally got some reprieve when Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Aaron Ramsey scored two first-half goals to secure an away goals advantage.

This performance was also a complete turn around of the past few weeks that one would’ve seen from Arsenal. The manager tagged it similar to when a boxer comes back and wins after a knockout loss.

Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund were stunned at home at after Austrian side RB Salzburg by 2-1. Second-placed side in La Liga and Twice former champions Atletico Madrid eased past Lokomotiv Moscow 3-0.
