Arsenal prevented themselves from being embarrassed by getting eliminated from Europa League Last-32 stage. Having won the first leg against Ostersunds 3-0, they lost the home tie 2-1 in a dramatic finale.

The English side was rattled in midway of the first half as Hosam Aiesh and Ken Sema scored twice in space of two minutes. With the absence of Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey, ominous signs were on the display at half-time for the North London side.

Luckily for them, reprise came in the shape of a defensive mistake of Ostersunds which gifted the ball to Arsenal defender Sead Kolisinac to thump in home and get one goal back. Eventually, which was to be an easy outing, became a scrappy affair with Arsenal winning the tie 4-2 on aggregate.

Serie A leaders Napoli won the away tie 2-0 but were eliminated on the basis of away goals against RB Leipzig. Fellow Italians AC Milan qualified comfortably for the next round with comfortable 1:0 win over Ludogorets. Second-placed Spanish side Atletico Madrid is also through to Round of 16.

Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund had to rely on last-gasp goal by Rafael Toloi to edge past Atlanta. The draw for Round of 16 of UEFA Europa League is on Friday.
