Premier League team Liverpool will be taking on AS Roma on Tuesday in the first leg of the semi-final tie in UEFA Champions League on Tuesday. Both teams are third in their respective domestic league.

Liverpool paved their way to the semi-final after thoroughly dismantling the Premier League champions in Manchester City in the quarter-final. They won by an aggregate of 5-1, and this performance has made them one of the favourites to win the competition. Team manager Jurgen Klopp’s tactics have paid off at the business end of the competition.

Klopp insists Liverpool's chance to reach a Champions League final should not be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in what will be their first semi-final in Europe's elite club competition for a decade.

He said, "I make the pressure higher? I tell them it's the only chance you ever have in your life so use it. Would you love to hear that before a game? It's not a once-in-the-lifetime chance. I am already for the second time in the semi-finals and if I go, I will be the second time in the final. That's pretty rare."

Meanwhile, AS Roma eliminated the Spanish giants Barcelona in a thrilling quarter-final tie. After being down by 4-1 in the first leg, they turned the tie around by winning the second leg by 3-0, shocking the footballing world by this feat.

AS Roma coach Eusebio Di Francesco said he is well aware of the Merseyside club’s ability to hit teams with swift balls over the top for their attacking trio to exploit but wants his side to keep a tight, compressed formation.

“We aren’t going to sit deep. They have to do well to force us deep. The decisive thing will be for us to stay compact,” said Di Francesco, a former Roma midfielder in his first season as coach of the club.
