UEFA Champions League: Liverpool Eye Semi Final Spot Against Manchester City

Premier League leaders Manchester City will be looking to get back on track after suffering consecutive defeats last week at the hands of their bitter rivals Liverpool and Manchester United.

Liverpool won the first leg match of the quarter-final tie by 3-0 against City after a first-half blitz last week and team manager Jurgen Klopp would be elated with his side’s performance. His side took a healthy advantage into the second leg on Tuesday.

Pep Guardiola will have to make his Manchester City side shake off a terrible week. After being hammered by Liverpool, they failed to seal the Premier League title against bitter rivals in Manchester United. United mounted a comeback after being two goals down to win the game 3-2.

Liverpool maybe will be without their scintillating winger Mo Salah as he injured himself in the City game. If he misses this tie it would be a blow to Liverpool who will be looking to return to the semi-final stage of the Champions League in almost a decade.

Meanwhile, Barcelona will be looking to affirm their spot in the semi-final as well as they travel to Italy to face AS Roma on Tuesday. Barcelona leads the aggregate with a 4-1 advantage. The Italian side self-imploded in the first leg in Camp Nou. Lionel Messi and co are the league leaders in the Spanish La Liga and have momentum on their side to take their team to the semi-final.
