The Indian Cricket Team started their summer tour with a comprehensive win over Ireland. On Wednesday, Team India played their 100th T20 International and registered a comprehensive 76 runs win over the Irish in Dublin.

The Indian Team has landed in Ireland for the 2 T20match series, in which India had already taken the 1-0 lead.

Ireland won the toss and elected to bowl first giving the Indian batsmen a license to go after the Irish bowlers in best possible fashion. The decision to send India in backfired for the Irish as the Indian batsmen ambushed them with ease.

Indian openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma did most of the damage, the duo registered yet another century partnership. The bowlers were punished for the poor line and length, balls were sent out of the fence repeatedly even the Irish fielding let them down.

India posted a mammoth total of 208 with the loss of 5 wickets. Rohit Sharma registered his 15th T20 fifty while Shikhar Dhawan scored his 7th fifty. Rohit scored 97 runs while Shikhar posted 74 runs to the scoreboard.

Ireland got off to a decent start and opener James Shannon slammed his maiden T20 fifty scoring 60 runs. No other Irish batsmen took the responsibility and the whole team collapsed for the score of 132/9.

Indian Skipper Virat Kohli introduced the spinners soon after the end of the powerplay that turned the game on its head as wicket fell at regular intervals. Kuldeep Yadav completed his spell taking 4 wickets for 21 and Yuzvendra Chahal took 3 wickets for 38.

It was in 2007 when India last visited Ireland and three years since the teams last met, at the 2015 World Cup when Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan put on 174 for the first wicket in their eight-wicket victory.
