UEFA Champions League: Cristiano Ronaldo's Masterclass Helps Real Madrid To Usurp Juventus

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo once again showed why he is talked as one of the greatest players ever, as he single-handedly overwhelmed Juventus on Tuesday.

His team, the defending Champions Real Madrid won the first leg of the quarter-final tie of the UEFA Champions League by 3-0.

The Portuguese captain started off the proceedings from the start as he latched onto a pass from Isco to put his past Italian keeper Gianluigi Buffon in the fourth minute. The Spanish giants had got their ideal start and had to then survive the ambush Juventus mounted to get back in the tie.

However, no matter how close they got, the Italian side never got the breakthrough and the first half ended with a sole goal in it.

In the second half, both the team anticipated that the next goal would define the tie, Real Madrid and Juventus went for it.

A flamboyant Ronaldo pulled out an audacious overhead kick to double Real Madrid’s lead in the 64th minute. The moment he leapt to the moment the ball went in, time appeared to have stood still as to let Ronaldo bask in his moment of magnificence.

He didn’t stop there, as exactly after eight minutes of scoring that show-stopping goal, he assisted his teammate Marcelo to help his team score the third goal and virtually seal the tie in the very first leg. They now have a three away goal advantage, a resounding lead and seemingly improbably for the Italian Champions to overturn.

The return leg will be played between the two team on April 12 at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid.
