The new service rule which was anticipated to be applied after the England Masters in March is not going to be implemented for CWG 2018. The rule mandated that the shuttle should not be more than at 1.15 meters above the ground at the time of service and was heavily criticised by many of the Indian shuttlers when this change was made.

Badminton event will begin on Thursday with the mixed team championship, which features the Commonwealth's top 16 nations across four groups, including top contenders Malaysia, England and India.
