Pro Kabaddi League franchise UP Yoddha will eye for a turnaround on Tuesday against the formidable Bengal Warriors in a Zone B contest to keep their hope alive in the in the marquee franchise-based tournament. The Lucknow based franchise, owned by GMR, have lost their last three matches at home which raised question about their fortune in the ongoing tournament.
Before the tough clash against the Bengal Warriors the home team must rectify their problems to turnaround their fortune in the tournament. In the last match they were thrashed by Warriors by 40-20 margin at Nagpur at the Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium.
Yoddhas are currently placed at No. 2 in Zone B, but they have to improve their performnace to beat in form Bengal Warriors, especially after conceding three defeats in front of home crowd.
Yoddhas lost their last two matches against U Mumba and Haryana Steelers respectively because of sloppy defence. On Sunday, they lost to Jaipur Pink Panthers because they were too much dependent on the raiders.
During their home match against Warriors they will rely on top raiders Nitin Tomar and Rishank Devadiga to turn around their fortune while the defence will be shouldered by the likes of Jeeva Kumar and Rajesh Narwal.
Meanwhile, Bengal, who are at 5th position in the same zone with two wins from five matches, will be benefitted from their hard-fought draw against Gujarat Fortunegiants in their previous encounter at Ahmedabad.
Bengal's luck will depend on the performances of Maninder Singh, South Korean Jang Kun Lee and Deepak Narwal.
However, if the Yoddhas manage to keep Maninder in check, it could bring Lee under pressure and force him to take risks.
If UP Yoddhas manage to exploit Bengal Warriors' weak defence, they will have a good chance in the match.
