Citing undue third-party interference in Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), global football body FIFA (Federation of International Football Association) has barred the country from its international games.

The football body in a statement said, "The Bureau took this decision as a result of the fact that the PFF offices and its accounts remain in control of a court-appointed administrator, which constitutes a violation of the PFF obligations to manage its affairs independently and without influence from any third parties in accordance with the FIFA Statutes."

The international body said that the suspension would bar Pakistan, including the national side, from participating in any international competition and prevent the country's national body from benefiting from FIFA development and training programmes.

"The suspension will be lifted once the PFF offices and access to the PFF accounts are returned to the PFF," added the statement.

While the PFF has not made any comment on FIFA's decision, its spokesperson has told a media outlet that they are preparing a statement in response to explain "the background which led to this and also our views on the suspension".

Records dictate that Pakistani team has not played any international since its 2015 match against Yemen in World Cup Qualifiers. The country has never qualified for the same.
