Mayank Agarwal Dominates South African Bowlers, Smashes Double Ton For India A

India A openers Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw displayed some world-class batting skills while playing against South Africa A in the first unofficial Test at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, on Sunday.

Mayank Agarwal sent the bowlers on a leather hunt with an impressive inning of 220 runs off 250 balls while other opener Shaw punished them with a well-made 136 off 196 balls during a 277-run opening stand.

As a result of a record-making partnership between the duo, India A went on to post a gigantic total of 584/4 and declared their batting.

Mayank Agarwal who registered his 8th first-class century while smashing a double hundred remained the hero of the day. Agarwal smashed 31 boundaries and four sixes in his 251-ball innings.

After a tremendous last season in domestic cricket where he scored well over 1000 runs, Agarwal continued his good form during India A tri-series in England with three hundreds in List A tri-series.

Speaking about Mayank's innings, Prithvi Shaw said, "I think, I have seen the best knock from the blade of Mayank. He batted really well and I expect him to get more runs under the belt."

On his knock, Shaw said,"I played according to the merit of the ball. When I saw ball to be it, I did simply that. I have been an aggressive batsman since my school days and I play my game as such."

India A now enjoys a 165-run lead after Mohammed Siraj took five wickets for 56 to bowl out South Africa A for 246.
