India's 16-year-old World Cup debutant Manu Bhaker clinched a gold medal in the women's 10m Air Pistol event at the ISSF shooting World Cup in Guadalajara. Much like day 1, Indian shooters brought pride to the nation on the second day of the tournament as well.

Beating Mexico's two-time World Cup Finals winner Alejandra Zavala, Bhaker shot 237.5 of 24 shots. The hosting nation's favourite missed her chance of shooting the gold and ended at 237.1 whereas French shooter Celine Goberville bagged bronze with a score of 217.0.

India's Yashaswini Singh Deswal landed just outside the podium and finished off at the credible fourth position with 196.1. Beating an experienced lot of shooters, the 11th standard student Bhaker marked a historic entry in the international game.

Bhaker has secured her place in the 2018 Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games. The proud teenager has already proved her potential by winning 9 gold medals at the national competition in December last year.

In men's 10m Air Rifle event, India's Ravi Kumar made his way into the finals with ease but had to settle for a bronze with his score of 226.4. Regretfully, he had to beat his compatriot Deepak Kumar for making his place at the podium.

India's medal tally has reached a total of 5 in the tournament. On day one, Shahzar Rizvi shot a world record 242.3 in the 10m air pistol event's final and clinched gold whereas Jitu Rai had to settle for bronze. Mehuli Ghosh claimed a bronze in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle final.
