ISSF Shooting World Cup: Saurabh Chaudhary Creates World Record, Wins Gold In 10m Air Pistol

Saurabh Chaudhary bagged the first senior gold with a world record score of  245.0 in the 10m air pistol event at the ISSF Shooting World Cup in at the Karni Singh stadium in New Delhi on Sunday.

Chaudhary defeated Serbia's Damir Mikec with a world record score of 245.0 and he continued his golden run with yet another flawless display.

Chaudhary has been in ominous form and continues to bring glory to the nation. 

With this top performance, Saurabh has also booked himself a spot in the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympics. He first won the Youth Olympics gold, then followed it up with an Asian Games gold to going on to clinch the Junior World Championship gold.

Reacting to the win, Saurabh said, "It's a very special and a very important medal. To do it in front of the home crowd was superb. However, I was not thinking of medal or quota while shooting; I just concentrated on my technique."

The 16-year-old claimed the top honours in the men's 10m air pistol event at the season-opening International Shooting Sports Federation event.

Dami Mikec of Serbia was second in the podium with a score of 239.3, while the bronze medal was bagged by Wei Pang of China, who managed 215.2.

Saurabh has also broken the Junior World Record at the Junior World Championships in Changwon.
