League Leaders cemented their top spot as Bengaluru FC won 2-0 against Jamshedpur FC on Sunday. Indian captain Sunil Chhetri and Miku scored the goals. They now have 37 points from 17 games.

The ‘Blues’ took the lead in the game via a penalty kick. Venezuelan Miku was brought down in the box by Subrata Paul. He subsequently dispatched it as well.

Captain Sunil Chhetri then rose higher than defender Wellington Priori from a Dimas Delgado corner to power home a header in the 34th minute.

Hosts Jamshedpur FC’s attempts to pull one were saved by keeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, and the visitors saw off this scoreline to the end. They are still fourth in the standings.

Meanwhile, FC Pune City booked their berth in the playoffs even after a 4-0 thumping at the hands of FC Goa.

ISL’s leading goal-scorer Ferran Corominas scored twice in the second half to extend his record.

To qualify for the playoffs themselves, FC Goa were required to win against FC Pune City. Their quest for that mark started well as they took a 1-0 lead into the halftime break with a goal thanks to a penalty from Spaniard Manuel Lanzarote in the 28th minute.

The floodgates opened in the second half as they got three goals more through Frenchman Hugo Boumous (47th) and Spaniard Corominas (58th and 65th a penalty) to end their five-game winless streak in style.
