SunRisers Hyderabad once again showed their bowling prowess as they defended a measly total of 132 runs against Kings XI Punjab in the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League on Thursday.

In a game once again dominated by the bowlers, it was Rashid Khan (3/19) who turned out to be the star for SunRisers once again as he along with Shakib Al Hasan (2/18) turned the tables around for the hosts in the middle overs after Manish Pandey's fighting 54 propelled them to 132 for six.

Besides Rashid and Shakib, Basil Thampi (2/14) and Sandeep Sharma (2/17) also rose to the occasion for the home team. For Kings XI Punjab, Ankit Rajpoot (5/14) registered his career-best bowling figures to restrict Sunrisers to the modest score.

After the dismissal of Shikhar Dhawan, captain Kane Williamson and Wriddhiman Saha, SRH were in a sticky situation. Thanks to a mature inning from Manish Pandey who was helped by Shakib Al Hasan and Yusuf Pathan, the 2016 IPL Champions put up a score of 132 runs on a difficult wicket.

Chasing this target, KL Rahul and Chris Gayle had a decent start but the opening pair faltered with mis-cues. The spin attack of SRH took over the game and smothered the opposition for runs.

With this win, SRH matches KXIP with an equal number of wins from seven matches the two teams have played.
