IPL 2018: Dwayne Bravo Led Chennai Super Kings Through An Unexpected Victory Against Mumbai Indians

The 11th season of Indian Premier League opened with the great amount of enthusiasm as A-list Bollywood actors raised the heat with their power-packed performance. The tournament kick-started with a heart-thumping match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.

From the very beginning, the defending champions Mumbai Indians had the match in their grasp but Bravo's smashing 68 off 30 balls with seven sixes included turned the entire game upside down. Dhoni's team surely made a thrilling comeback in the tournament with their unexpected victory.

With 166 runs to score, Chennai batsmen took the field in second innings but were soon reduced to 118 for eight but Rohit Sharma's efficient bowlers. Then came Bravo and starting his batting attack, throwing balls in each direction with ease but was dismissed as CSK reached 159.

Having only one wicket in hand, Kedar Jadhav, who had retired hurt with a hamstring injury took the field for CSK. After playing three dot balls in the nineteenth over, he finished the game with a smashing six and four off the fourth and fifth balls respectively.

Surprisingly, the 18th and 19th overs were bowled by Mitchell McLenaghan and Jasprit Bumrah who gave away 20 runs each including five sixes by Bravo. From Team Mumbai, Hardik Pandya (3/24) and spinner Mayank Markande (3/23) did remarkably well and took their team close to victory.

IPL's most-experienced player and run accumulator Suresh Raina (4) was dismissed off Hardik's bowl as his elder brother Krunal took an impressive catch. Ambati Rayudu (22) gathered few points for CSK before Leg-spinner Markande took his wicket. While players were at their best, both the skipper seemed a little off and gave away their wickets quite soon.
