Dinesh Karthik who was witnessing his bowlers getting hammered around the park wanted to change things. He gave the ball to part-time spinner Nitish Rana. The gamble paid off as he scalped the two important wickets of arguably the two best batsmen in the world, Kohli and de Villiers.

RCB with the help of bowler Vinay Kumar and Mandeep Singh produced a scintillating 18-ball 37 enabling team to post the total of 176.

For KKR, opener Sunil Narine set up the chase with a 17-ball 50 (4x4, 5x6), the joint fourth-fastest fifty in the IPL.

Umesh Yadav brought RCB back in the game as he took the two most important wickets of the openers but the KKR skipper Karthik took over and guided his team to their first win the 11th edition of IPL 2018.
