Indian Women’s Hockey Team Registers First Win Of Spain Tour, Beating Spain 3-2 In Third Match

Indian Women Hockey team registered their first win of the Spain tour after defeating Spain, 3-2, in the third match at Superior de Deportes Hockey Stadium on Friday. Skipper Rani Rampal shined with a goal in the last moment of the game.  

Spain beat India 3-0 in the opener, the second game between the two sides finished 1-1.

The host took an early lead when Maria Lopez scored in the 3rd minute of the game. The Indian team came back strong, posting the ball in the nets twice in the fourth minute of the game and took 2-1 lead over Spain.

The great team work from the Indian team resulted in a great field goal by the young striker Lalremsiami in the 32nd minute. 

The final few minutes were tense for the visitors as the host put the Indian defence under constant pressure.  

The player in form Lola Riera levelled the score from a penalty corner in the late 58th minute. It seemed that both the team would end up with another draw. But the Indian Skipper took the charge and popped up in the 59th minute of the game.
