India Beats Pakistan To Win Blind Cricket World Cup

India on Saturday defeated arc rivals Pakistan by two wickets to win the Blind Cricket World Cup in style. This was the fifth edition of the Blind Cricket World Cup. The tournament was co-hosted by Pakistan and UAE with the final match being played at the famous Sharjah Cricket Grounds.

Defending Champions India won the toss and elected to field first. Pakistan posted an impressive total of 308 runs on the board at the end of 40 overs. Badar Munir scored 57, while Riasat Khan scored 48. Skipper Nisar Ali added 47 runs to the total.

India reached the target in the 39th over with two wickets remaining. Deepak Mallik was the star of the day as he scored quick 53 runs in just 43 runs before being retired hurt. He also took two wickets. Durga Rao was the top bowler in the squad dismissing three Pak batsmen for just 20 runs.

At one point victory looked doubtful as Pakistan got three consecutive wickets as India moved towards the target but a wide-ball that went to cross the boundary confirmed the victory.

This is India’s second consecutive title win in the Blind Cricket World Cup. Pakistan has also won the title twice while South Africa won the title once.

Prime Minister Modi congratulated the team calling them ‘True Champions’.
