Ind Vs WI Rajkot Test: Ravindra Jadeja Scores His 1st Test Hundred

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja impressed everyone with his batting skills after smashing maiden Test ton, on Friday at his home ground Rajkot to guide India to a mammoth total as the hosts declared their first innings at 649/9 at tea on the second day of the first Test against the West Indies.

The left-handed batsman scored five fours and five sixes in his f innings as he reached the milestone in 132 balls at a strike rate of 75.75. Jadeja remained unbeaten on 100 as skipper Virat Kohli called for the declaration of Indian innings at 649/9.

Resuming the second session from 506/5, skipper Virat Kohli (139) was dismissed after adding 19 runs more to his score. He was dismissed by Sherman Lewis, his 230 balls innings was consists of 10 boundaries.

After Lunch, Jadeja continued to pile on runs, even with India continuing to lose wickets on the other end. After the dismissal of Kuldeep Yadav, the all-rounder went after West Indies bowler and stitched a 55-run partnership with Umesh Yadav to take India across 600. After Umesh’s dismissal, with just one wicket to go, Jadeja decided to not rotate the strike and kept on batting himself to achieve the milestone.

For the West Indies, Devendra Bishoo picked up four wickets while Sherman Lewis chipped in with two wickets.

Earlier, in the first session, Kohli brought up his 24th Test century while wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant missed out on one after a blistering 92 as India put up 506/5.
