Virat Kohli led-Indian team outplayed New Zealand in their own den as the Men in Blue comfortably won the 1st ODI by 7-wickets in Napier with 85 balls to spare, on Wednesday.

Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan led the charge from the front as he scored a valuable knock of 75-runs (off 103 balls) and brought up his 26th ODI half-century. Rohit Sharma failed to grab the opportunity and was able to score only 11-runs.

The run-machine Virat Kohli got out on 45-runs (59 balls) and missed the rare opportunity to chase down a small total.

Kane Williamson after winning toss opted to bat first and the entire Kiwi side bundled out on 157-runs. Williamson played a sensible knock and scored a good 64 runs in 81 balls.
