Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Friday won the toss and opted to bowl first against Australia in the third ODI of the three-match series at Melbourne.

The hosts looked very helpless before Indian spinners and got all-out for just 230 runs in 48.4 overs. India needs 231-runs to win the 3rd ODI and the series as well.

Yuzi Chahal claimed six wickets, highest for the Indian team.

The leg-spinner, who replaced Kuldeep Yadav in the team line-up, dismissed Shaun Marsh and Usman Khawaja in his first over. Two overs later, Chahal set up Marcus Stoinis for a catch at slip and got his third wicket in the match.

Chahal’s 6/42 is also the joint best bowling figures in the ODIs in Australia, along with Agarkar. It is also the 6th best bowling figure in ODIs by an Indian bowler. He also achieved the distinction of becoming the first spinner to take six wickets in an ODI in Australia.

Middle-order batsman Handscomb smashed 58 runs in 63 balls, and Glenn Maxwell scored a quick-fire 26 off 19 balls.

Aussie did not find a good opening as their skipper Aaron Finch fell on 14-runs, but Marsh and Khwaja kept their nerves and scored 39 and 34 respectively.

Later, India also started well but Peter Siddle sent Rohit back to the pavilion in the sixth over. Rohit faced 17 deliveries and scored 9 runs with one boundary.

Yuzvendra Chahal also became only the second Indian bowler to pick up a 6-wicket haul in ODIs in Australia.

Apart from him, the only other Indian to get six wickets in the 50-overs format in Australia was Ajit Agar, who coincidentally had recorded the exact same figures at the same ground 15 years ago.
