Virat Kohli led Indian team showcased some exceptionally brilliant skills on the third day of the 1st Test against Australia as the visitor team extended their lead to 166 runs. Aussies were dismissed for 235 in the first innings at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday.

India posted 151/3 in their second innings at stumps, and have a lead of 166 runs. At the end of the day, Pujara was batting on 40 while Ajinkya Rahane was on 1 at the other end.

The visitors began their second innings with a 15-run lead and a 63-run first wicket partnership between Murali Vijay (18) and KL Rahul (39).

The opening pair gave nightmares to the Australian bowling unit for some time but Mitchell Starc dismissed Vijay. Following that, KL Rahul was also sent packing by Josh Hazlewood.

Kohli, who had lost his wicket to a somewhat careless shot in the first innings, employed a much more careful approach during his second essay.

For Australia, apart from Lyon, fast bowlers Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood also picked up a wicket each.
