Ind U-19 Vs SL U-19: India Levels The Series With a Comprehensive 135 Runs Win

Indian Under-19 team hammered Sri Lanka U-19 by a big margin of 135 runs in the 4th Youth ODI to level the series 2-2 in Moratuwa, Sri Lanka on Tuesday as young Indian spinners Ayush Badoni and Harsh Tyagi shared six wickets after a collective batting show by the visitors.

After electing to bat, Aryan Juyal led Indian team put up a decent total on board with a score of 278 for the loss of six wickets. Indian batsman Devdutt Padikkal was the top scorer with his 71 runs, skipper Aryan Juyal scored a decent 60 runs and Yash Rathod went on to score 56.

Indian batsman Atharwa Taide fell early after scoring just 20 runs, Devdutt Padikkal and Pawan Shah (36) added 74 runs for the second wicket before Sandun Mendis broke the stand by scalping the latter.

The next batsmen used the platform set by the Indian top order to post the highest score of the series.

Indian bowlers then produced some quality spin bowling and managed to bowl out the hosts for merely 143 runs in 37.2 overs with off-spinner Badoni and left-arm spinner Tyagi taking three wickets each.

Sri Lankan opener Navod Paranavithana top-scored for the hosts with his 45-run knock while captain Nipun Dananjaya Perera managed to contribute 36 runs.


India Under 19: 278 for 6 in 50 overs. (D Padikkal 71, A Juyal 60; S Mendis 2/37, S Lakshan 2/48)

Sri Lanka Under 19: 143 all out in 37.2 overs. (N Paranavithana 45; A Badoni 3/35, H Tyagi 3/37).

The decisive fifth ODI will be played on August 9th at the same venue.
