Again! Heena Sidhu Makes India Proud, Shoots Gold At Commonwealth Championships

The pride of India and shooting champion Heena Sindhu made the nation proud once again by securing a gold at the Commonwealth Shooting Championships.

The shooter has maintained a great form throughout the year and continued by striking gold at the women's 10m Air Pistol event in Brisbane on Tuesday.

Beating the Australian shooter Elena Galiabovitch who shot 238.2 points for gold, Sidhu scored the unbeatable 240.8 points. Followed by Elena, another Australian, Kristy Gillman claimed the silver with 213.7 points.

Indian shooters are indeed showcasing a great performance at the Commonwealth tournament this year. Deepak Kumar struck a bronze in 10m Air Rifle event at the championship.

Sidhu had recently clinched a gold at the ISSF World Cup final in New Delhi along with partner Jitu Rai. Finishing the streak with 483.4 points, the pair beat France with 481.1. Her partnership with Jitu has garnered the gold for India thrice ready.

The duo was also able to claim the top spots at the ISSF World Cup in Delhi in February and ISSF World Cup Rifle/Pistol series in Gabala, Azerbaijan.

Heena had stricken a bronze in the women's 10 air pistol event at the Grand Prix of Liberation Plaza Shooting Championships in the Czech Republic in May by shooting 218.8 points in the finals.
