Good News For Sportspersons Of Delhi As Cabinet Approves Jobs In The State Government

Arvind Kejriwal led-Delhi cabinet on Monday approved government jobs for sportspersons from the city who showcase excellence in their field.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal took to his Twitter account to express his views and said, " Good news for sportspersons of Delhi. Cabinet approves jobs in Delhi government for those sportspersons who excel in their sports. Rules to be notified within one month."

The rules for the same will be notified within a month, said Kejriwal. The step was taken to encourage and support city-based sportspeople.

In August, the cabinet had increased the cash incentive for sportspersons from the national capital for their achievements in the Olympics, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games including Para Games.

Earlier in the month, the Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu exhorted universities and higher educational institutions in the private sector to earmark a certain percentage of seats for the poorer sections and subsidize their education.

Delivering the 9th Convocational Address of the Lovely Professional University at Phagwara, Punjab, he said, unfortunately, quality private sector education has become out of bounds for the poor and marginalized sections. "Why should not private universities earmark certain percentage of seats for students belonging to poorer sections and subsidize their education".
