India’s gold rush on day ten of the Commonwealth Games 2018 continued as Vinesh Phogat and Sumit Malik won their final bouts in respective categories on Saturday at Gold Coast.

India’s Gold Medal tally at CWG 2018 is 23.

Vinesh Phogat defeated Canada's Jessica MacDonald in the 50 kg category to win India's first gold in the women's wrestling at CWG. With this win, Vinesh became the first Indian woman to win two wrestling gold medals at the Games. She had also won gold in the 48 kg category in Glasgow four years ago.

Sumit defeated Pakistan’s Tayab Raza 10-4 in a dramatic bout. It turned out to be a pulsating contest as Sumit was leading early on but Raza came back to reduce the deficit to 2-3 after attacking the Indian’s legs.

Sumit didn’t allow his rival to dominate as he displayed incredible athleticism, hopping around the mat to avoid stepping outside the bound after Raza once again had grabbed his leg.

2016 Rio Olympic Gold Medalist Sakshi Malik also won a bronze medal in the 62kg weight category.

India is third in the medal tally with 53 medals in total.
