CWG 2018: Kidambi Srikanth, Saina Nehwal Storm Into Semi-Finals In Singles Event

World No.1 Badminton player Kidambi Srikanth stormed his way into the final of the men’s singles event in Commonwealth Games 2018 at Gold Coast on Friday. He won against Singaporean Zin Rei Ryan in straight games. Indian ace female shuttler Saina Nehwal also made her way into the semi-final in women's singles event.

Srikanth won both the games in within 17 minutes to showcase the class difference and the confidence he has.

Kidambi Srikanth will face England's Rajiv Ouseph in the semi-final on Saturday.

The other Indian in the fray, H.S. Prannoy will play Sri Lankan Dinuka Karunaratna in another quarter-final, later on Friday.

The 2012 London Olympic Games bronze medallist Saina Nehwal thrashed Canada's Rachel Honderich to cruise through to the women's singles semi-finals.

The World No.12 Indian hardly broke a sweat and barring a couple of poor shots towards the end, dominated the contest throughout to comfortably win by a 21-8, 21-13 verdict.

She will face World No. 18 Kirsty Gilmour of Scotland at the semi-final on Saturday. Gilmour defeated Indian shuttler Ruthvika Shivani Gadde who had to withdraw midway due to injury.
