Changes In GST Bring Diwali Earlier For Indian Citizens, Says PM Modi

Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi while addressing the masses during his Gujarat visit claimed that the festival of lights has arrival earlier this year due to the exclusive changes brought to Goods and Services Tax.

GST council has slashed the tax rates for 27 products and provided much-appreciated relief to small businesses entities by increasing the revenue threshold from the present Rs 75 lakh to Rs 1 crore for availing the benefit of the composition scheme.

PM Modi said, "Diwali has come early for our citizens due to the decisions are taken in the GST Council. We had said we will study all aspects relating to GST for 3 months, including the shortcomings. And thus, the decisions were taken with consensus at the GST council."

While laying the foundation stone for a bridge between Okha and Bet Dwarka, Modi highlighted that the central government has taken appropriate steps to ensure the growth of Indian economy while safeguarding citizens' interest.

Narendra Modi's two-day visit to Gujarat is anticipated as a before the state elections strategy. He is scheduled to inaugurate many government projects during his stay in the state. He is also slated to visit his birthplace Vadnagar.

Gujarat's election is scheduled to take place at the end of this year. The reason behind the PM's fourth visit to Gujarat this year is speculated to be the promotion of BJP before the final schedule is announced by the Election Commission, which will restrict the parties from many any promises.
