Champions Trophy Hockey 2018: India Draws 1-1 Against Belgium, Moves To 2nd In Points Table

India drew Belgium 1-1 in the fourth encounter of the Champions Trophy Hockey 2018 on Thursday at Breda, Netherland. The Indian team moved to the second place in the points table with 7 points after winning two matches out of four.

The leading scorer for India Harmanpreet Singh brought the first breakthrough with an opener in the 10th minute of the game. After this, the Indian team was unable to find a goal throughout the match while Belgium approached outrageously to the match.

In the 44th minute of the match, Mandeep scored a goal but it was quickly ruled out by the referee for a free hit that he gave Belgium for a tackle before that.

The Indian Goalkeeper Sreejesh along with defender didn't let the Belgian team score in the first three quarters. Both the teams were awarded a lot of penalty corners.

The frustrated Belgian team finally pierced the Indian defence and goalkeeper Srejeesh in the fourth quarter when Luypaert Loick finally struck a goal out of a late penalty that drew the match for Belgium.

India will next play Netherland on June 30 in the final game of the group while Belgium, who are last in the group will play Pakistan on Friday.
