The 1st match of the Asia Cup 2018 between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka witnessed an act of selfless bravery by Bangladeshi opener Tamim Iqbal who came to bat out one-handed at number 11 after suffering from a broken wrist, at Dubai International Stadium, on Saturday.

Tamim Iqbal got stuck by a Suranga Lakmal delivery on his left wrist while attempting a pull shot very early in the Bangladesh innings. He was taken to the hospital, where a scan confirmed the fracture and has been ruled out of the Asia Cup.

At one stage when Mustafaizur Rahman was run out, everybody thought the Bangladeshi innings has come to an end. The Bangladeshi opener surprised everyone with his dramatic entrance in the ground and took the guard with just one hand. His dramatic entrance rejuvenated Mushfiqur Rahim who had already made a fantastic century.
