Asia Cup 2018 Final: India Triumphs Again, Defeats Bangladesh On Last Ball

In a breathtaking final match of the Asia Cup 2018 between India and Bangladesh, India won the match by 3 wickets on Friday. It was a last ball match of 50th over when all-rounder Kedar Jadhav hit the winning run at the Dubai International Stadium.

Bangladesh team had posted a target of 223 runs to win, a competitive total in the final match of Asia cup 2018.

After losing the toss, Bangladesh was given batting first by the Indian team skipper Rohit Sharma.

In response to call of batting first, Bangladeshi opening pair thrashed the Indian bowling line up with Liton Das scored 121 runs in 117 balls and Mehidy Hasan scored 32 runs in 59 balls.

Bangladesh was at 120 runs in 20.5 overs and was progressing towards match-winning total when Jadhav dismissed Hasan at 32 runs.

Later Indian bowlers maintaining the grip took back to back wickets with 128/2, 137/3, 139/4 that continued to stop Bangladesh team at 222 runs in 48.3 overs.

In response to the set total on the board to chase opening pair Captain Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan came into bat and failed to provide a foundation with Dhawan lost the wicket at 15 runs in the 4.4 overs of the match.

Though Dhawan batted really well throughout the tournament he failed to perform in the final match.

After the loss of Dhawan wicket, Sharma took the responsibility and played calmly and scored 48 runs in 55 balls. Later Dinesh Karthik and former captain MS Dhoni had a decent partnership with Karthik scoring 37 runs in 61 balls and Dhoni scoring 36 runs in 67 balls.

The time when Karthik and Dhoni partnership broke out, the Indian team was in a difficult situation but with Jadhav scoring 23 runs in 27 balls, Ravindra Jadeja scoring 23 runs in 33 balls and Bhuvneshwar Kumar scoring 21 runs in 31 balls, India reached the target comfortably on the last ball of the match.

Bowling extremely well from the Indian side Kuldeep Yadav took 3 wickets that proved crucial.
