Asia Cup 2018: Afghanistan Thrashes Bangladesh By Massive 136 Runs

Afghanistan cricket team hammered Bangladesh by 136 runs in their last group match of the Asia Cup 2018 at Dubai International Stadium on Thursday.

Chasing a target of 256-runs, Bangladesh never found the necessary momentum and lost the wickets at the regular interval to bundled out merely on 119 runs.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Gulbadin Naib and Rashid Khan picked up two wickets each to hand the Afghans a comfortable victory.

Openers Liton Das (6) and Nazmul Hossain Shanto on his ODI debut were sent back on (7) to the pavilion, Shakib Al Hasan (32), Mahmudullah (27) and Mosaddek Hossain (26 not out) mainly contributed to the Bangladeshi score.

Mahmudullah and Mosaddek Hossain scored towards the end but the lack of support denied the run chase.

Earlier, Afghanistan rode on high on some brilliant batting by Rashid Khan (57 not out) and shared a brilliant 95-runs stand with Gulbadin Naib (42 not out)

Afghan batsman Hashmatullah Shahidi stuck a well fought (58) to post a decent score, besides the trio opener Mohammad Shahzad also played an aggressive inning of 37-runs.

For Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan took four wickets while Abu Hider Rony scalped two wickets.
