Popular messaging app Whatsapp has got a new iOS update. With this update, users can now watch YouTube videos within the App. The new version also brings some bug fixes and general improvements.

WABetaInfo first spotted the feature in beta testing. In previous versions of the app, whenever a user tapped on a YouTube link, it would be played using the YouTube app after moving WhatsApp to the background. However, with the YouTube integration, the video can be played within the app without closing it.

The new version also comes with (Picture-in-Picture) PiP mode so that one can still use WhatsApp while viewing a YouTube video.

This edition of WhatsApp also makes it easier to send a long chunk of audio in one go without having to hold the microphone button during the entire recording. Now, when you start recording a voice message, you can slide up a new Mic. Lock icon to lock recording that lets you continue recording without needing to hold the microphone icon.

This feature is only available for iPhone users right now. We will be keeping a tab on the android rollout of the feature.
